2013 Pinot Noir
Sep 4th, 2014
Fresh aromas of raspberry, kirsch, strawberry, spice, and violets on this medium-bodied red. Bright acidity, with flavours of raspberry, cherry, pomegranate and notes of vanilla, caramel and spice with a dusty finish.
Liquidity’s 1994 planting of own rooted clone 115 along with fruit of clones 667, 777, 828 and 91, all cane pruned and then shoot and fruit thinned to produce 2 short tons per acre.
All clones of Pinot Noir were hand harvested in late September and destemmed, but not crushed. Most of the ferments were carried out with wild yeast strains and gently hand punched throughout. The finished wine was racked to mature for 11 months in all French oak barrels (16% new).
Food Pairing Notes
Duck breast, beef shank, mushroom dishes, grilled tuna steak, bacon, or an antipasto platter would all complement this wine.
