Landscaping and Groundskeeping Worker

Liquidity Wines Ltd is seeking a Landscaping and Groundskeeping Worker to help our Vineyard Manager on our 30 acre property in beautiful Okanagan Falls. The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated, have an ability to take initiative and work without guidance. Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.

Duties include:

  • Care for established lawn by mowing, aerating, weeding and edging around beds, walks and walls;
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, flowering plants, trees and shrub and apply mulch for protection using gardening tools;
  • Prune and trim trees and shrubs using shears, pruners or chain saw;
  • Install rock gardens, irrigation systems and retaining walls;
  • Operate powered equipment such as mowers, grass trimmers and small tractors;
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes and pruning saws.
  • Assisting in all aspects of the daily operations involved in the management of the landscaping, working closely with Vineyard Manager to ensure customer appreciation and amazement.

Position requirements:

  • Knowledge/or desire to learn landscaping and groundskeeping practices including planting, pruning, irrigation and plant nutrition;
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in changing weather conditions;
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction;
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications related to the work assigned;
  • Problem solving;
  • Valid BC driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally entitled and eligible to work in Canada.

For the right candidate, there is the potential of permanent (approx. 800 hours/year) landscaping employment with training and further certification opportunities.

Tasting Room Hosts (4 positions)

We are now hiring in the tasting room for the 2017 season! We are looking for energetic, outgoing and organized people with a passion for wine, food and art to join our team. If you are friendly, enjoy interacting with people and have your Serving It Right certificate, we would like to hear from you. We are looking to fill four seasonal positions:

  • 1 full-time person from early April through to mid-October, reducing to part-time until mid-December
  • 1 full-time person from mid-May through to mid-October
  • 2 part-time people (3-4 days/week) June 24th through Labour Day weekend inclusive

The job duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Providing guests with a memorable tasting experience
  • Assisting customers with sales and/or shipping
  • Stocking shelves
  • Light housekeeping duties in public areas
  • Assisting with inventory transfer
  • Helping out at special events hosted by Liquidity
  • Promoting Tasting Room sales, online sales, events & Wine Club

Requirements include:

  • Serving It Right certification (available online)
  • Ability to make yourself heard in a noisy room
  • Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Hospitality experience
  • An interest in wine, from soil to bottle
  • WSET or ISG certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of the BC Wine industry & regions an asset
  • Ability to regularly carry 45 lb cases
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 hours)
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays required
  • Must be legally entitled and eligible to work in Canada.

Tasting Room Support Team

We are looking for a support person in our tasting room this summer season. This job would be for approximately 20-25 hours per week from June 24th through Labour Day. The position does not include the pouring or sale of alcohol and as such there are no age restrictions associated to this position.

The job duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Stocking shelves
  • Assisting with packing orders for shipping
  • Assisting tasting room staff with glassware washing and polishing
  • Light housekeeping duties in public areas
  • Assisting with inventory transfer
  • Assisting with bussing tables in the bistro if needed

Requirements include:

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to regularly carry 45 lb cases
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 hours)
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays required
  • Must be legally entitled and eligible to work in Canada.
